"DRIP...DRIP"

All of us were amazed at the wonders of technology during the recent Persian Gulf war. But, of all the marvels, like laser guided missiles, etc., none affected me like the secretive, shadowy Stealth Bomber. The Flying-Wing design jet aircraft (brain-child of Jack Northrup back in the 1940's) cost over a billion dollars for every plane! Read carefully, I said one billion. The Stealth Bomber is known for being able to hide from enemy radar. But it this billion dollar idol of technology has an Achilles heal.

It seems the Stealth Bomber can resist the most advanced radar in the whole world... but it can't resist... RAIN! Technicians have found that when the plane is flown through rainstorms, the special paint (used to fool enemy radar) drips right off the wing. That makes it a sitting duck.

There are times in our lives when we overlook the most basic, obvious things. And, although we may give the appearance of having it "all together", when the storm comes... drip, drip, drip.

The fact is, all of us at one time or another put on a good appearance while disregarding other more important areas in our lives. One night, I recall hearing a man speak who had a large nationwide ministry to families... the same night his son was graduating from college. Drip, drip. And guess what, gang? That could have been me. Barbi and I can mess up our priorities about as quick as any people I know! But every once in awhile we need to look down at the "paint" of our lives, making sure that we are ready for the storms that are sure to come.
