TRIM THE SAILS — REVIVAL IS COMING!

My pastor has this wonderful approach he takes with those in our congregation who say they don't feel "led" to do a certain thing. When they say that they don't feel led to lead a Sunday School class, read the word of God, share their faith, etc...he pulls a marble-sized piece of lead out of his pocket and places it in their hands. He smiles and says, "Now you feel lead!"

One thing I don't have to wait to "feel led" about: Revival is coming to our nation. In my heart of hearts I believe it will be accompanied by judgement, as well...but it is coming...and we must prepare.

But when the "Wind of the Spirit" begins to blow will you be prepared?

Imagine being in a sailboat when there is no wind. It's what sailors call the "doldrums." We still use that word today to describe being listless or lifeless. How many of you remember ministering in churches 6-7 years ago? That's kind of where the church was at.

The wise sailor learns how to harness the wind--Maybe an extra jib, maybe more mainsail, maybe a slight change in the rudder...all are used to get the maximum out of the wind.

But what about when there is a storm and the wind blows fiercely? That's when you really need to be careful. I took Barbi out sailing in a small boat on Lake Geneva in Wisconsin when the wind was gusting up to 30 mph. At one point we were headed into the wind when we jibed (turned around to go the other way) Suddenly, the wind caught our sail and banged with such force that we almost capsized. Other boats came back to the marina with broken masts....

Like Elijah, who saw the "cloud the size of a man's hand," I believe I see storm clouds ahead. A Harvest of souls.....and judgement is on the horizon. And when the storm starts we'll have more wind than we know what to do with.
