An Unforgettable Miracle!

When Terry & I began traveling in music ministry together (we’re in our 15^th year anniversary of ministry), we came to a little church in New York state to sing.  I remember it well, because I shared a testimony (for the first time) of something very special the Lord had done in my life.

 Early on in our marriage, I began having repercussions from a teenage car accident where I suffered a whiplash.  I had hit the windshield hard and started getting headaches, etc.  As the years had gone by, the pain got worse and I found myself going to the chiropractor several times a week just to get relief. 

I remember off and on praying to my Lord, the creator of the universe, and saying, “Father, it’s not that I’m not willing to accept this pain, but, I really don’t want to go through the rest of my life with this ailment.  So, I know you are able, could you please heal me?”

 For several years, I prayed this prayer off and on... until one day, God healed me, instantly.  It was obvious because for weeks, I had been going almost daily to the chiropractor, and then suddenly, I had no need... the pain was all gone!  In His sovereignty, God chose to heal me when a precious woman and her husband prayed with Terry and I.

That night in the little New York church, I shared my testimony and encouraged people not to give up praying if they had a need... especially for healing.  I said we should always leave the timing up to God and never judge people when God doesn’t immediately heal us.

 Afterwards, a mom of three children and a husband came up to me with a hat on.  Through teary eyes, she explained that she was being treated for cancer.  She shared that over the months she’d had everyone pray for her healing, but some had criticized her and said she wasn’t healed because she had no faith.  How sad!  She thanked me for my exhortation to the church.

 Just a few months later, Terry & I received a letter in the mail expressing the celebration of sudden and complete healing.  This precious woman experienced a sovereign God answering the pleading of her prayers... in His time.

 God’s timing is perfect!  We’re only told to persist in prayer!  And never give up!
