            In light of the recent events in our nation, it seems appropriate to focus on a few things about the religious heritage of the United States of America…

Did you know that 52 out of the 55 framers of the constitution were orthodox Christians? And 39 of them were active in leadership in local churches? Did you know that our founding fathers threw themselves on the mercy of God and conducted many sessions of fasting and prayer because of their "firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence" as they were defying England's rule and King George III?

Did you know that MANY of our founding fathers openly shared their beliefs that our country and democracy, as well as our school systems, would never stand without a firm foundation in the Bible and a strong belief in the Gospel of Jesus Christ? Here are a few quotes:

George Washington (called the "Father of his country") said, "It is impossible to rightly govern without God and the Bible."
Thomas Jefferson said, "Religion is deemed in other countries incompatible with good government, and yet proved by our experience to be its best support." ,and while President of the Washington DC school board, he said, "I have always said... that the studious persual of the sacred volume (the Bible) will make us better citizens."
Abraham Lincoln said, "The only assurance of our nation's safety is to lay our foundation in morality and religion."
Benjamin Franklin said, "He who shall introduce into public affairs the principles of primitive Christianity will change the face of the world."
Woodrow Wilson said, "A nation which does not remember what it was yesterday, does not know what it is today, nor what it is trying to do."

Proverbs 14:34 says, "Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people." God WILL bless America, if we follow HIS ways ONLY!! Oh, how he longs to! That has been His desire from the beginning of time. The question is, can God really continue to bless America the way we currently are…without churches across this land turning to Him in repentence?
