USGN Article - March 2004 Denial or Betrayal? Peter and Judas were two men who were somewhat similar – they were on the same “team”, and they both responded poorly upon the arrest of Jesus in the Garden. One of them denied Him; the other betrayed Him. But the way that each responded afterwards was where they were, oh, so different. Have you ever wondered why Peter denied Jesus? The Bible is clear that both Peter and Judas greatly regretted their actions. Peter ended up in deep sorrow and repentance, which ended in a life of service to God; Judas ended up in deep sorrow and self-pity, which ended in death from his own act of suicide. Character flaws are exposed in us at times of testing and temptation that God allows in our lives. The point is: when we fail, will we respond to our deep sorrow with repentance or with self-pity? Though I am far from perfect, I have a passion about this: I believe that God is calling us back to lives of sacrifice and self-denial. Let this be a call to all who will hear: “Come and consecrate yourselves to the Lord!” Stop denying and betraying the Spirit of God! I cannot keep silent any longer -- corruption is at the core of many religious denominations. Corruption is at the core of much of what we do in “God’s name” in the Christian Music Industry. Many of the “prophets and priests” who “lead” are corrupt! Let us say, “Enough of denial and betrayal; the fear of man and the pride of flesh.” Join me in calling on the Lord for the Spirit of Elijah to come upon us! Let us be a holy bride, consecrated to the Lord and pleasing in His sight! Let us prepare the way of the Lord, for the judgment of God begins at the House of the Lord… and it is coming upon us brothers and sisters! Leaders across this nation, you who call yourselves Pastors, humble yourselves and seek the Lord! Leaders of Christian music, you who have pimped for those desiring to rise to the “next level”, and have turned anointed musicians into prostitutes who simply stroke God’s people for financial gain…or for the next standing ovation, repent and turn back to the Lord! He must increase, and we must decrease! No servant is greater than His master. We must expect, and rejoice, in the sufferings of Christ. If we don’t gather with Christ, we scatter. Let us humble ourselves and cry out to God to see what He is saying… A great demonic storm is coming upon this land! Are we ready? Will we stand the tests? Will we be like Peter or Judas? Or will we be willing to die for the sake of Christ? Let the Spirit of Elijah rise in us and PREPARE THE WAY OF THE LORD!
