Lord, Who is "Gea Shea Llama"?
It seemed that God had many tasks to accomplish while I should have been sleeping, so He chose to give me added physical strength to get through the many days of this outreach in this remote region of Southeastern Siberia. I'm sure this abnormal ability was from the prayers of the 1,000's of intercessors that heard we were being... what we're now calling... "hassled for Christ". (We can't exactly call what we went through "persecution" when 1,000's are literally giving their lives to preach the Gospel around the world.)
The next morning, one of the ministers reminded me that Llama is what they call Buddhist teachers. So I thought it must be the name of one of the leaders of Buddhism there near Ulan Ude, Siberia, where we were ministering. As the days progressed, I probed and finally found out that the Gea Shea Llama are actually the "ordained priests" of the Buddhist temples. I had never heard this title. But I was told they get several years of training in the teachings of Buddha's philosophies from the 1,000's of pages of manuscripts. Then they go to India to be "commissioned" and sent out to their appointed locations.
I was able to share God's love and His intimate grace and
compassion with this student/teacher of one of the Buddhist Gea Shea Llama
and as he nodded with deep gratitude for my concern, I gave him a CD of our
Christian music and told him that I would also pray for him (his name is
Rama). Join me in praying that God will reveal His great and intimate love to Rama, his "master", and his dad, Nino, as well as all the leaders and Gea Shea Llamas around the world. They are hungry to know that it's not their works or hard-earned state of nirvana, or "denial of all desires", that they find freedom from evil and turmoil. Jesus Christ is the Prince of Peace and has already earned their freedom if they will see and admit their sin and need for His salvation. God can open the eyes of all Buddhists around the world if we will pray!
